Random thoughts from a random time

While watching a young woman run to catch a bus I was struck with a thought. If this same woman had been born a couple of thousand years ago, she may have been running from a tiger and now would most certainly be dead. Natural selection is a scary thought. Maybe civilization is a good thing after all.

The Merchant of Venice is quite the anti-Semitic story. I understand that at the time and place it was written it would have been acceptable, but you know what? I bet people accepted Mein Kampf when it came out.

I made a sandwich today. It was on a deli roll and had no meat on it. It sure was tasty.

Really. I can't get over that sandwich. It had lettuce (unusually fresh), tomatoes (out of season but somehow still soft), onions (taken from the salad bar), mayo, vinegar and oil. And it was delicious. I think I'll make one for dinner.

Get real! Tigers are not native to Illinois, not even two-thousand years ago. She would have been struck by a man and dragged by her hair into a cave, poor thing. Oh well, maybe ancient tigers represent modern day men on your computer screen?

Yeah right, tigers are awesome and have always had access to jetpacks. They also have superior navigation skills, and could easily fly to whichever continent they wanted, and eat whomever they wished.

im gonna have to agree with Jesse on this one, tigers are just too raw when it comes to transversing the globe.

....and dont get me started on ligers, quite possibly the most perfect living organisms past, present, and future.
