January 22. 2003

Dear Friend,

I am debating taking yesterday's post down. It makes me look stupid and I don't like that. I "discovered" a book called The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It is amazing, and makes me more emo. Long stories I don't feel like sharing here. It is a very good book, I think you should read it. My friend Tim is really smart, he likes this book. So does my friend Katie. They are both much smarter than me, I should tell them that. Maybe they'll cry.

The thing about love is that I believe.

Love always,

Marty

PS. I have kinda turned this into a web comic. It's gonna look this bad until I get some time to make and color real comics. These get my points across quicker.

PPS. A big holla to all of those bloggers and not that are not here because of the big K.

PPPS. Don't stop living in the red.

PPPPS. Maybe I'll catch fire... something warm to hold me....

PPPPPS. No one is allowed to go to Tim's Blog. Yeah, it's a blog now, you crossed the line by posting exerpts from an emo book. Too bad, Emo McEmo. Stop being so emo! Unless it's fun emo, which yeah, it kinda is. Okay, people you can go to Emo's Blog. I should update the link. Emo!

That pretty much captures the feeling of last night's show, a lot of empty silences. I was the only person there with out shrapnel in my face or a leather jacket, rocked out with pins and spikes. Well, sorry, not the only one, the second band that played dressed a lot like me, and had an enjoyable set, but the crowd looked as if they were ready to kill the lot. Guess that "emo" stuff doesn't go over too well at a gutter-punk show. W00t.

Banaroo practice today went well, it's gonna be a hella good show, so everyone had best be there, even if it is only to see me fake bass, or Tim Martin's bare torso. Oops, ruined the surprise. Be there and be square, cause, as we all know, it's hip to be a square.

I am quite the nerd.

Hey all. I just rolled in from the F-Minus show at the Fireside Bowl. First off, spending 10 bucks to see a band that you don't really like isn't a good idea. I mean, I just blew as I used to think of it when I was a kid, 2 action figures to go see this guy cream his lungs out and wail on his guitar. But, the other guitarist was this beautiful girl. Wow, really, hottest punk-rawk chick I have ever seen. The show was okay, the other two bands didn't suck. I felt like posting this long message declaring a new punk rock dress code for girls, but i don't have the energy. Pick up Ben Weasel's Punk is a Four Letter Word for the boy dress code. Below is my band who I think I'm gonna get kicked out of because I suck's logo. Banaroo practice tomorrow. Should be fun, I need to go practice. Later Days.

That entertaining enough for you, Mary? Hope it is.

That's a tribute to Matt Skiba of the Trio, it's inspired by his song "In Your Wake." It looks so much cooler, too bad my image hoster only takes shit jpgs. Feh. So, yeah, new link, even though I didn't get a shout out, I'm kinda hurt. Speaking of shout outs how about one to the Colman girls, I guess they read this thing now. I guess I'll have to watch what I say. So, shout outs, shout me out via my mail. Later days, yo.

Tim is not gonna like this one... watching the OC and going home to blog? For serious...

Anyway, this week's episode: lacking at best. Not enough Seth, but that Anna man, woo, hottie. Hot with a capital HOT. Luke is picking up, but seriously, Ryan, kill Oscar or whatever that kid's name is, he needs it. And Summer while you're at it, her Anti-Anna-Agenda has been aparent for some time, and I will have no more of it!

I have way to much time on my hands. Tomorrow's test shouldn't be to hard, I have an entire sheet to fill with stuff. I do have to scrounge up a protractor and a ruler. Today wasn't so bad. It is really boring here though. I can't wait for college, I'm sure I'll still be as bored, but at least it wont be here. I like to draw, can you tell? I need a comments box thing so people can tell me what they think of my drawings. In fact, I'll put up my email, so you can hit me up there, and tell me what's what. I like all mail, including hate. It's fun. So email me.

Okay, I know, one post a day rule, but....

I have a future.

That's right, I am going to college. Maybe 4 minutes ago I got a phone call:

Them: Martin?
Me: Yeah?
Them: (sincerely apologetic) Oh, I’m sorry, you go by Marty don’t you?
Me: Uh... Yeah…
Them: Hi, Marty. This is (Forgot name, stupid me!) calling from the Savannah College of Art and Design, I’m going to be your admissions counselor for the admissions process here at Savannah.
Me: Oh.
Them: DO you have any questions at this time?
Me: Yeah, you guys get my application?
Them: Yes, not only did we get your application, we’re happy to say you’ve been accepted.
Me: Really?
Them: Yes.
Me: Oh, awesome.
Them: And not only that, but because you scored, it says here 29 on your ACT, is that right?
Me: Yes, that’s right.
Them: Well, you get a scholarship of 5000 dollars.
Me: Oh, great!

It went on like that. This is great, senior year is officailly over.

Okay, last post needs som explaining. Maciej just showed me how to post images, so now I can post my comics and shit. Anyway, Scene Hoppers was a strip I worked on over the summer, it went nowhere and is now on hold. Maybe I'll start up again, I don't know. I posted 9 because I think it's my best one, and it sucks pretty bad, so there's the reason I don't post more. I do have to post this though, because it tears my strip to pieces. And I think it's damn funny.

(Pics back up soon!)

So, yeah, enjoy~!

Chewing out a rhythm on my bubble gum, the sun is out, and I want some. It's not hard, not far to reach, we can hitch a ride to rockaway beach!

Glorious new year.

Random Quotes: "My aunt always gives me stuff from Wal-Mart. It smells like smoke."
"Hitchcock! But with out the cock!"

Ahh, Taboo, good times. So it's a new year, and it's warm as hell out there. Unless hell is burning hot. Or freezing cold for that matter. Anyway, yeah, nice weather, perfect SKANKING weather for those of us going to see Mustard Plug at the Midwest Ska Fest tomorrow! Booyah, Ska r0x0rz!
I am currently working on an alltime greatest summer mix tape. It's gonna be the soundtrack of summer 2004. So far I have just a few essential tracks: Ramones - Rockaway Beach, Screeching Weasel - The First Day of Summer, Mustard Plug - Summertime, AWK - Party Hard. It's gonna be the perfect CD to be playing on a bright sunny day as I cruse down 290 heading for the beach or Wrigley Field, the windows down, music blasting. Ahh, good times. I'm looking for more tracks, holla if you got any.
Whewh, school starts in just 2 days. Thank God for Sunday, cause I ain't working tomorrow, SKAFEST! Anyway, yeah, school, boo. On the flipside, the close of this week brings the OC back into our lives and living rooms. I am most def having that OC party (Wednesday, the show starts at 8 so be there before, My house), which is crazy, y'all are invited, OC fans or not, just let me know prior, okay? What else are you gonna be doing at 8 on a Wednesday in the middle of the school week, huh? Nothing. So be there, Mi Casa arounf 7:30ish. w00t.

Long post, but, "stale bread." Outie, yo.
